WEEKLY SESSIONS TO IMPROVE DIGITAL SKILLS

We are thrilled to announce that after successful funding from the Community Fund we are now able to provide free sessions to improve digital skills for adults with learning disabilities.

Digital inclusion is more important now then ever since Covid-19, with many sessions and support being offered online. Since our offices closed we have worked hard to get all our members online so that they can access our Zoom sessions and Facebook Group to receive support from friends and continue to learn skills, socialise and stay well.

Led by Beckie, these sessions will look at improving online and digital skills to look for jobs, build CVS, use online resources such as banking, shopping, health and support. The sessions will empower adults with learning disabilities to have more rewarding and independent lives, reduce isolation, build self confidence and remain safe online.

100% Digital

Good Things Foundation has partnered with Leeds City Council to develop 100% Digital Leeds – a new digital inclusion movement for the city. The movement brings together a wide range of organisations with a shared goal – to reach the most digitally excluded people in the city and help them to understand and benefit from digital.

We are proud to be part of the 100% Digital movement and will be working with several organisations across Leeds :Aspire, Tenfold and Purple Patch Arts.

Working with the members from Aspire to begin with, specifically those who have been unable to access online services during lockdown, we will reach adults with learning disabilities and the digitally excluded at this crucial time. We are currently designing a survey that can be sent to Aspire members to help us tailor the sessions we deliver. The data will be collected and collated by Tenfold – the Learning Disability Forum for Leeds.

Service providers and organisations across Leeds have also been asked to complete a survey that will help us design and understand what skills the project should include.
